This recycled sari silk ribbon is made from cotton/ silk/ polyester blend Indian saris. I used stripes of different colored ribbons in a systematic manner starting with each unique color combination which I have named it as, ‘Holiday Baubles’.
The colors consists of maroon, olive green, azure blue, silver gray and beige. I meticulously cut these strips with my own hands from long sarees one at a time.

How I made it:
I machine sewed each ribbon to another ribbon. It is sewed using zig-zag stitch with white thread. It took me a lot of time to make it. But I love to know that I made my own yarn & now you will be able to use this handmade creation to make something beautiful.
I have kept the edges of this yarn raw or unfinished intentionally to give it an organic look. I feel it adds a certain mystic & give a wild touch to this art yarn. The colors make me think of a colorful baubles or trinkets. It gives me a happy feeling just looking at it!
