Symbolic meaning of the season fall: It is the season of balance; light and dark, yin and yang, new beginnings and letting go. If you are adaptable and open for change, then it brings great promise, love and self reflection in your life.
How I made it: I machine sewed each ribbon to another ribbon. It is sewed using zigzag stitch with white thread. It took me a lot of time to make it. But I love to know that I made my own yarn & now you will be able to use this handmade creation to make something beautiful.
I meticulously cut these strips with my own hands from long sarees one at a time. These fair trade sari ribbon yarn are made from remnant but new fabric from my collection. That is why sometimes I mention it as recycled sari yarn.
I used cotton/ silk/ polyester blend Indian sarees to make this beautiful colorful craft yarn. I have kept the edges of this sari ribbon yarn raw or unfinished intentionally to give it an organic look. I feel it adds a certain mystic & give a wild touch to this art yarn. It gives me a happy feeling just looking at it!
Recommended crochet hook: You can use a 8 mm hook to get a tight gauge. Please see the last picture to see how it looks when crocheted.
