This beautiful multi colored handmade fabric twine is perfect for all DIY craft projects. It is very unique because the colors will keep on blossoming and changing in each and every yard of yarn. There would be at least 2-4 color changes in each yard of yarn. I made this new type of art yarn using recycled art silk sari scraps in vibrant hues.
Quantity: 2 Yards
Size: It is a thick n thin art yarn. The width varies between 0.25 inches – 0.5 inches.
Uses: Great for making baskets, coasters, rugs, crochet, scrapbook embellishments, bunting, bracelet, necklace, wrist wrap, pendant and other handmade jewelry, gift wrapping, home decor, Christmas tree decoration, kids craft, card making, picture frames, rustic farmhouse wedding decor, place mat, rugs, mason jars decor, door handle makeover, bulbs, eggs, coasters, cording for garments, empty wine bottles, shipping supplies, quilting, etc.
The ends of this homespun yarn are left raw which adds an added touch of handmade charm to this yummy art yarn. The end result of anything you make with it would be absolutely stunning: vibrant, colorful, hot and happening. I hand twisted this fabric twine using an age old method that my mother taught me. She used to spin yarn on ‘Charkha’ and knows many homemade techniques.
I have meticulously strips of fabric with my own hands from long sarees, one at a time. It is sewed using a zig-zag stitch. Then I hand twist 2 of these ribbons together to make this twine. The edges of this yarn raw or unfinished intentionally to give it an organic look. It adds a certain mystic & give a wild touch to this art yarn. Due to its handmade nature, there will be some unevenness which is the beauty of all handmade things. :)
