A little story about the robe:
The robe that you see around this baby Buddha is a fabric that was hand dyed by me about 8 years ago. I had no idea at that time what I was going to do with it. It turned out that it was meant to be made into a great person’s robe. When ultimately this baby Buddha pattern was completed, I cried tears of happiness. This baby Buddha is my way of devotion to The Great Enlightened Master.

Gautama Buddha was born as Prince Siddhartha. He was also called Gautama. Buddha means “The Enlightened One”. The king’s court had many sages who were appointed for Gautama’s prophecy. 19 out of 20 sages said that Siddhartha would become a world ruler by looking at the signs on infant Buddha’s body.

There was one sage who had a mastery over ‘Akashic Records’. When he looked at the baby’s feet, he stated with supreme confidence that the baby would only become a world renowned sage. His prophecy was fulfilled eventually.

In India and elsewhere, people celebrate Buddha’s birthday every year usually in the month of May as per the lunar calendar.
