I made this Cold Snowflake Moon Applique on the last full moon of 2019. That full moon was called the Cold Moon as it brings in the cold season at its full peak. I wanted to pay my tribute to both this beautiful nature being and the event.
While I was designing a cowl pattern with a wavy ripples pattern, the idea to add a moon to the waves suddenly popped up in my mind, then came the idea of creating a snowflake and before I knew it, I had a snowflake full moon over my cowl. It is funny how all of these ideas form and work together.
Being a healer, I have always been a moon lover. I especially love the full moon. I am so happy I could make a pattern inspired by it. The snowflake here represents the cold season. This is how decorative I see the moon. ;) The applique is very easy and can be made in just a few minutes perfect to use as an embellishment or as a last minute Christmas ornament. The pattern comes with a few picture tutorials which will help you to understand it better.
