Description
This bee-eater passerine silk sari yarn ribbon is inspired by the jewel toned colors of a bird named Bee-eater Passerine. I used cotton/ silk/ polyester blend Indian sarees to make this beautiful colorful craft yarn.
I used stripes of different colored ribbons in a systematic manner starting with each unique color like olive green, maroon, pumpkin orange, sunny yellow, teal and khaki green.
I meticulously cut these strips with my own hands from long sarees one at a time. These fair trade sari ribbon yarn are made from new fabric from my collection. That is why sometimes I mention it as recycled sari yarn.

How I made it:
I machine sewed each ribbon to another ribbon. It is sewed using zigzag stitch with white thread. It took me a lot of time to make it. But I love to know that I made my own yarn & now you will be able to use this handmade creation to make something beautiful.
I have kept the edges of this sari ribbon yarn raw or unfinished intentionally to give it an organic look. I feel it adds a certain mystic & give a wild touch to this art yarn. It gives me a happy feeling just looking at it!
