Marigold Garden Crochet Bedspread

April 24, 2021:

I began making this crochet bedcover in October 2018 and finished it in January 2019. It took me 13 months to complete but a long time for me to weave in its ends and finally finish this huge project. If you know me, you’ll know that I am not a fan of huge projects and weaving in the ends.

I used my crochet pattern for making the squares. It is my Marigold Afghan Square Crochet Pattern

This bedcover is 70″ x 84″ in size. For this huge blanket/ bedspread, I’ve used 42 similar pattern squares, each measuring 9.5″ x 9.5″ with a border covering the entire bedspread which is 2″ on all sides. It is huge!!!

It is complete, except the weaving in of all the yarn ends which I am doing right now. Somebody, save meeeeeee. Phew!!! Next comes the part where I write its pattern.

I remade the border and my bedcover is almost done(except I’m only halfway with the weaving in of all those ends). While I was making the green edging, I wanted to add another design. I had used a yellow color for the edging last time before I frogged it. I didn’t like it and had no other colors.

I wanted to add a red border, I had off white yarn and I had red dye. ;) You can guess what I did to the off white yarn. Yup! It is dyed, dried and is now being unwound to be used for this bedcover border.

I finished making the border and weaving in all those yarn ends. Busted a total of 1522gms(2610 yds/ 53.69oz) of worsted weight yarn. It’s finally done!!!!!

This is one of the biggest projects I have finished till date. It didn’t take me 13 months, it took me 14 months to make this huge bedspread. I’ll post better pictures later. Pattern will be released in a couple of days.
