Diwali Diya is an Indian hand painted terracotta flower shaped lamp (Diya). I bought the brown terracotta lamp which was painted with geru(red earth) and painted it again in bright acrylic colors. The colors I used are: red, gold, green, white and orange. I also added an abhla(cut mirror) in circle shape and glued it in the center. The back of the lamp is not painted. If you need more lamps in different shapes or want a specific design/ colors used, I can custom make it for you.
Such oil lamps are used in India during the biggest festival named “Diwali” which means “Festival of Lights”. The outside of each and every house in India is adorned with oil lamps of different shapes during this festival. The sight is just awesome.
You can use this handmade diwali diya to decorate your home. It has 5 slots which can hold your candles, your earrings or tiny belongings, chocolates or spices. You can also use it as a lamp (which it is originally meant for), drill a hole and make it into a cool wall hanging or create something unique out of it.
Dimensions of Diwali Diya:
Length: 120mm or 4.5″
Width: 123mm or 4.75″
Weight: It is a bit heavy.
If you have any queries before or after purchase of this diwali diya, please click the button at the end of this page. I personally will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
